Tucked away at the end of a private lane, The Gallery is a beautifully converted Charter Barn that offers a seamless blend of rustic charm and contemporary luxury, taking its design inspiration from the owner’s much loved travels. With breathtaking panoramic views over Carbis Bay towards the iconic Godrevy Lighthouse, this exceptional holiday home provides a peaceful retreat for six in one of Cornwall’s most sought-after coastal destinations. Thoughtfully designed with sustainability and style in mind, it’s a perfect escape for families, creatives, or those simply seeking a slower pace of life by the sea.

Inside

From the moment you step inside The Gallery, you’re welcomed into an inspiring space where craftsmanship meets modern living. The striking entrance opens into a gallery-style atrium, flooded with natural light, as well as Orluna lighting which mimics the sunset on those overcast days. Space really is a huge feature of this minimalist home so it’ll never feel crowded here. At the heart of the home is the sleek, open-plan kitchen and dining area. This space is fitted with a large kitchen island with ceaser stone worktops, a Quooker tap and high-end Gaggenau appliances including steam ovens and a professional fridge and freezer, so keen cooks and health enthusiasts will be in their element. There’s a long wooden table with seating for all guests, so this part of the house really is the perfect area for entertaining and socialising. The adjoining living area flows beautifully into a separate space. While maintaining an open plan feel, we like to call this space the ‘snug’, and has comfortable seating and a sound system for listening to music while enjoying the views from the large windows. Featuring a projector, this area is lovely in the evenings and the double woodburner is a great addition to the underfloor heating and mood lighting to create a cosy atmosphere.

The retreat boasts three spacious bedrooms across both floors, two of which have an en suite. The principle bedroom on the first floor is particularly special, with a super king sized bed on the elevated half of the room to really make the most of the sea views, it also has plenty of sleek built in storage to ensure your holiday stays stress free and uncluttered. The en suite bathroom is a very spacious wet room with a freestanding bath and rainfall shower.

Downstairs you’ll find the other two bedrooms, the king sized bedroom is Balinese inspired, with natural colours, warm lighting, rustic finishes and handmade hanging space for clothes. The Bali bedroom has its own outside access. This room has an en suite which is a wetroom style bathroom with a walk in shower.

The third bedroom takes its inspiration from Morocco. Expect warm hues of orange and natural materials to whisk you away to a carefree oasis of calm for a restful nights sleep. Like the Bali bedroom, the Morocco bedroom also has outside access via sliding doors. Please note: this bedroom has a screen instead of a door.

In addition to the principle bedroom upstairs, you’ll find a versatile work studio tucked away across the overhead bridge which can be used to quietly work or get creative. This room has a WC.

The family bathroom is the kind you’d find in a spa, with dark hues, exposed stone walls and a beautiful rainfall shower to soak away the day.

There’s a handy utility room off the ‘snug’ which has outside access, a great area for sorting out washing and wetsuits.

Natural materials such as granite exposed walls, lime clay plaster, and Thermo Aspen and ash ceilings add character and warmth, while eco-friendly features like air-source and underfloor heating ensure a sustainable, year-round retreat.

Outside

Surrounded by outdoor space to front and rear, this home is perfect for soaking up the sun. The gallery has a barbecue and outdoor furniture, as well as firepit for cooler evenings, and you’ll find it’s a fantastic spot for epic sunsets. There’s also a grassy area which will particulary be loved by children and dogs. Your views? Of the sea towards Godrevy Lighthouse. The Gallery is also positioned next to a field and very few neighbours (you might see a few cows passing through!), so you really have privacy here. The carport has room for two vehicles and additional cars can park in the car bays opposite the house.

For those who love the outdoors, The Gallery is ideally positioned on a scenic walking path leading to the St Michael’s Way, offering access to some of Cornwall’s most breathtaking landscapes right from your doorstep.

Things we love

The Gallery surprises and delights from the moment you step inside… it’s an inspiring architectural masterpiece, in a breathtaking location. The elevated position, looking down over Carbis Bay, and yet close to St Ives, means that you are away from the hustle and bustle and surrounded by bucolic peace—but you still have everything you’d want to see and do just moments away. It really makes this place feel unique and special. We love that you can be in St Ives in a few minutes by car (or you can get there easily by train from Carbis Bay station, on one of England’s most beautiful railway lines, and you won’t have to worry about parking). Of course St Ives is one of Cornwall’s most vibrant and picturesque seaside towns, known for its world-class art scene, The Tate and many other galleries, and boutique shops. If you fancy taking a step back from your beautiful kitchen and dining space at The Gallery, you’ll find that this area is a paradise for foodies, offering everything from fine dining to harbourside fish and chips. Plus, you have easy access to the South West Coast Path, as well as being virtually on the St Michael’s Way. So strike out on any number of breathtaking coastal walks, to hidden coves and some of the UK’s most scenic beaches, or meander the footpaths of West Penwith discovering bronze age stone circles and Poldark-era tin mines. Sheltered Carbis Bay beach, with it’s pristine sands, is itself is a leisurely 15 minute amble. So whether you’re looking for a luxury holiday home in Cornwall, a coastal retreat, or a base to explore the stunning Cornish coastline, The Gallery is the perfect place to soak up the beauty and culture of West Cornwall.

Vehicle access — please note

The access lane is an unmade country lane. It’s a little bumpy but not a problem for most vehicles. If your car is particularly low to the ground please get in touch and check suitability.
