Forever Cornwall Portreath Surfers

Portreath (meaning ‘sandy cove’ in Cornish), was vital in the tin mining industry in the Camborne and Redruth area. The original quay (built in 1760) was extended in 1846 to expand business to this part of Cornwall. The harbour was also used by the pilchard fishermen, some fishermen still work from this harbour today.
